I started this blog in 2003, but didn't think of posting a best-reads-of-the-year list until this year. So, to remedy my incompleteness, I'm adding here, a year late, my best-reads-of-2003-after-I-started-the-blog list. I only read a few five-star books during the seven months in question.

Straight Man by Richard Russo The first book I reviewed at the book-blog, and arguably the reason I started the blog in the first place. Very funny. Exceedingly well written. (Review) |

The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown Fast and fun. (Review) |

The Slippery Slope by Lemony Snicket The tenth book in the elusive Mr. Snicket's wretched series. (Review) |
