Review Copies/Book Submissions
Book-blog.com often receives books for review from authors or publishers. If you would like to submit a book for review please contact the blogger. I am interested primarily in literary fiction, mystery/suspense, and popular non-fiction--whether already available or in advance of publication--released by recognized trade publishers (no e-books or self-published books, please). (Receipt of a review copy obviously does not ensure a favorable review.)
Update, 6/17/2009: I'm going to be saying no to more and more offers of review copies, I think, as I try to get my TBR stacks under control. That said, I would invite authors to submit the first sentences of their first chapters to me for possible posting on TwitterLit.com (and on Twitter @TwitterLit). Here's a form and directions for submitting: http://www.twitterlit.com/suggestion-form.html
Update, 12/26/2007: Back in the day, when this blog was young and my TBR shelves didn't look like this:

...my unofficial policy was that I would read and review anything I'd requested a copy of/expressed an interest in/agreed to take a look at. But I'm only one person, and I just can't do it anymore. I've decided that if I have any chances of getting through the books that come in, I've got to be more particular about what I commit myself to, and I've got to feel more free to abandon books that I don't want to finish (something I've always been loath to do). So if you do send a book my way, I can't guarantee a review. But if I do review a book I'll let you know about the post, provided that I have your contact information. Reviews, however, can take months or even years to appear here. (Again, see the picture above.) If you don't hear from me the book is either still in the stacks or I've decided not to read it.

Spam Comments and Other Misbehavior
Authors may be interested in reading this blog post of mine, or this comment I posted at Miss Snark's blog, on the subject of deceptive reviews posted at Amazon.
Here is a post about how not to behave should you get a negative review, at book-blog.com or elsewhere. And here (with follow-up here) is a post on the evils of spam comments as a promotional tool.
